Lest We Forget.
This is the project to incorporate knitted poppies. Suzie Potter reported that the manager of AEC has agreed to display these in the main foyer of AEC on 3 large foam headstones. It is hoped that there will be up to 10,000 poppies. Congratulations to Suzie on this great outcome. People wanting to make woolen poppies can obtain wool at 50% discount at Spotlight. Patterns are also available there and Spotlight is the delivery depot for completed poppies.
Poppies in The Sand
Plans for Poppies in the Sand are progressing well re music, lighting etc. Barb Madden has submitted a grant application to Tourism W.A. to help cover costs.
The next meeting will be on 8th September at 5pm at Three Anchors.
Great to talk to you this morning Jane! So glad that we have an established collection point in Albany so that we can contribute to the November Centenary and the 5000 poppy project. You have my details, let me know if you need a hand establishing a social media presence and creating & distributing posters around Albany! Cheers
